The hospital consistently prioritizes technology and talent, bringing together a team of leading international and domestic oncology experts. It focuses on developing internationally advanced technological capabilities such as local interventional therapy, Yttrium-90, and precision proton therapy (in collaboration with Taihe Cancer Hospital), forming a distinctive core competitive edge. On the service front, guided by a "patient-centered" philosophy, the hospital leverages its efficient diagnostic and treatment processes, significant cost advantages compared to overseas options, and comprehensive, considerate services. These strengths have successfully overcome international barriers, attracting patients from over 30 countries and regions, leading to sustained and rapid growth in its international medical services. This success not only demonstrates China's professional medical capabilities but also enhances Huangpu District's and Guangzhou City's reputation in international healthcare.

Despite the severe challenges posed by the external environment in recent years, including the pandemic, all staff members have united, navigated difficulties, and achieved robust growth and high-quality development in operational performance, demonstrating strong market resilience and vitality. Building on this solid foundation, the hospital has set even higher strategic goals for 2026, accelerating its international expansion: Firstly, by strengthening international exchanges and building solid bridges for cooperation; Secondly, by deepening industrial collaboration, actively negotiating with international healthcare groups like Singapore's Parkway Pantai, leveraging the advantages of the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City platform, and striving to establish a regional international medical demonstration hub, leading the integrated development of culture, tourism, and high-end medical services; Thirdly, by expanding overseas wellness initiatives, exploring a Phuket wellness project to pioneer a full-chain "Medical + Tourism + Wellness" model, constructing a comprehensive, full-cycle health service ecosystem.

During the discussions, Supervisor Mr. Luo Aiming and Vice President Ms. Ma Lanying elaborated on the policy challenges currently faced by the hospital, earnestly appealing for increased support from higher-level authorities to further remove development obstacles and unleash the potential of international medical services.

The research team listened attentively to the hospital's report and highly commended Guangzhou Royal Lee Cancer Hospital's significant achievements in its internationalization journey, its innovative spirit, and its contributions to the regional economy. Deputy Chairman Mr. Ma Jinke and Director Mr. Chen Gang noted that international medical tourism is a crucial lever for enhancing regional health services and strengthening the city's international competitiveness. The Huangpu District CPPCC will actively fulfill its roles in political consultation, democratic oversight, and participation in the deliberation and administration of state affairs. They will carefully consider the suggestions proposed by the hospital and actively advocate for them to higher authorities. The next steps involve fully supporting the establishment of a pilot zone for international medical tourism in Huangpu District, assisting the hospital in refining industry standards and regulations, and coordinating the development of relevant facilitative policies. This aims to create an optimal policy environment for the hospital's long-term development, enabling it to shine more brightly on the international medical stage.

This research visit and symposium served not only as a strong affirmation of the hospital's development achievements but also as a powerful catalyst for its future growth. Both parties agreed to quickly form a special task force, define the research levels and key focus areas, and initiate field visits and online thematic seminars soon. They plan to involve professional expertise deeply and fully align with the application process for Guangzhou's International Medical Service Recommendation List. Using this collaboration as a springboard, Guangzhou Royal Lee Cancer Hospital will continue to uphold its original medical mission, scale new heights in technology, and work hand-in-hand with the Huangpu District CPPCC to jointly draw the ambitious blueprint for the high-quality development of the international medical and health industry in Huangpu District, contributing robustly to Guangzhou's goal of becoming a new premier hub for world-class medical and health services.
